08 - MATERIALS HANDLING

Bullivants’ Boss range of hoisting products are all

manufactured to AS1418. The BOSS range comes with

Care and use

• Always examine the Chain Block carefully

before use. Look for cracks or damage, particularly

with hooks and load chain.

• Keep load chain clean and oiled to prevent undue

damage or wear.

• When in use, avoid dragging the load chain

through dirt or mud.

• When the Chain Block is used outdoors or in

a corrosive environment, ensure that it is regularly

and adequately lubricated.

• Do not operate the Chain Block if you do not

have a clear view of the bottom block and the load.

• Hooks should never be tip loaded.

• Never reeve the load chain of a chain or lever

block around the load.

Prior to use ensure you check the following:

• Deformation, damage, bend in the neck of the hook.

• Check the suspension pin does not show signs of

bending, cracking or wear.

• Ensure that the side and suspension plates are free

from cracks wear and damage.

• Check the load chain is free from nicks, 10% wear,

gouges, arc burn, twisted or bent links.

Please note; if the Lever Block or Chain Block does not

comply to all the inspection criteria- it must be removed

from service immediately - tag it ‘out of service’ and

report it!
